Your hair looks like that because it's very damaged from the heat. I think you should try to pull yourself away from the hair straightener (I know it's hard, I used to straighten my hair every day but now that I've stopped it's healthier). No heat protector is going to protect your hair fully, so you can't avoid damaging your hair as long as you straighten it. Find a good deep conditioner (Aussie makes good ones) to help add moisture to your hair. Get a shampoo that says for dry hair.
Herbal Essences Hyrdralicious Purple Reconditioning Conditioner (I haven't tried the shampoo yet, but I'm pretty sure it's good). This conditioner makes your hair soft and silky and it's for dry/damaged hair too which is great. Hello Hydration Herbal Essences shampoo is also good too (my opinion).
Buy a heat proctectant spray (like the heat proctectant Tresemme spray, in a red and black bottle with a spray nozzle). If you're going to straighten or blow-dry your hair, you might as well use one if you already don't.
Tip: If you want your hair shinier, then before getting out of the shower, rinse cold water in your hair and that'll make it shinier.
